Physicians Taking Medicare Assignmen

Most doctors in our area will accept Medicare assignments, which means that their fees are the amount that Medicare will reimburse. Physicians who do NOT accept Medicare assignment are limited by Federal law to charge no more than 15% of the Medicare approved charge. If your doctor does NOT accept Medicare assignment, he may submit your bill to Medicare, but Medicare will send the check to you, and you will then pay the doctor.

Physicians Accepting Medicaid Patients

The list of physicians who will accept Medicaid patients changes from year to year. With a Medicaid HMO, you must call the doctor first to be sure he/she participates in your plan. Some providers do not accept new patients, so call ahead to be sure that a particular doctor is still working with Medicaid.

 

To find a doctor who accepts new Medicaid patients, you must call your HMO provider listed on your Medicaid HMO card.
